- When Kenya Thomas, a gainfully employed carpenter, music artist, and father of 6 suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke just 4 months prior to his wedding day, life as he knew it changed for what seemed like the worst. Not only was the stroke his second near death experience but it also rendered him wheelchair bound with loss of use in his right arm for 2 years now. He went from building the foundation of houses to having to re-build the foundation of his life. Although forced into early retirement from carpentry, Mr. Thomas was determined to make lemonade from lemons. He, along with the help of his entrepreneur wife, Bianca Thomas founded Cape-Able Crafts to enable him to put his gifted hands back to use. Mr. Thomas now works tirelessly using the same creativity and precision he once used in carpentry to paint abstract art. Moreover, Cape-Able Crafts not only represents love of the arts, but it also represents resilience, ambition, determination, faith, and people with disabilities. Mr. Thomas's art is beautiful, but the story behind the art is even more captivating. His experiences, albeit challenging, has afforded him the opportunity to see life through a different lens henc
