allmansright is a cottage ultralight outdoor gear company founded in June 2020 by Dominican-born designer Livio Melo with his partner and co-founder Jen Jacobsson-Melo. The brand became known because every pack was originally designed and sewn by hand by Melo in the couple's Bronx apartment; the studio has since relocated, and all orders are now packed and shipped from Uppsala, Sweden, where the company is registered.
The gear is made in small batches for people who count grams: ultralight backpacks starting around $220, sling bags, and accessories such as food bags, stuff sacks and resupply bags running roughly $12 to $50. The company was selected for REI's Path Ahead Ventures accelerator for founders of color in 2022, and its work has been covered by Outside Magazine in its 2024 roundup of cutting-edge outdoor gear brands, as well as Gear Patrol, GearJunkie, Field Mag and Travel + Leisure, and on the Backpacking Light and Backpacker Radio podcasts.
