Beneath Your Mask is a luxury natural skincare brand founded by Dana Jackson, who began formulating her own products in 2012 after a lupus diagnosis led her away from conventional, irritating skincare. The flagship is the HEAL Whipped Skin Souffle, and the wider line is non-toxic, all-natural, organic and vegan, covering both skin and hair. The brand is positioned for people with compromised immune systems and sensitive skin who need formulas that will not set anything off, a narrower and more demanding brief than most beauty lines take on.
Jackson built and bootstrapped the company without outside funding, then picked up retail partnerships with Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Credo and Beauty Heroes. The name refers to removing the protective facades people wear and accepting the self underneath.
