Briogeo is a hair care brand founded in 2013 by Nancy Twine, a former Goldman Sachs vice president who left finance to build a texture-specific line. It is known for the Don't Despair, Repair! deep conditioning mask, the Scalp Revival charcoal range and the Curl Charisma line.
The formulations are marketed as 6-free and 90 to 100 percent naturally derived, with no sulfates, silicones, parabens, phthalates, DEA or artificial dyes. Briogeo was one of the first Black-founded hair care brands to land a full national rollout at Sephora, and it remains widely distributed through Sephora, Ulta and its own site rather than a retail shop of its own. The company was acquired by the Wella Company in April 2022; Twine stayed on and the brand continues to operate under its own name.
