Clare sells premium zero-VOC designer wall paint, ceiling paint, primer and painting supplies direct to customers, and was founded by interior designer Nicole Gibbons on the premise that paint shopping shouldn't be a hassle. The idea is to strip out the part of painting that wears people down: instead of standing under fluorescent light with a fan deck, you order peel-and-stick paint swatches, free on orders of five or more, and test the colors on your own wall in your own light before committing to a gallon.
Shipping is free on paint orders over two hundred dollars. The company is an online-only direct-to-consumer brand with no retail location, so everything runs through the website, and published contacts cover customer support on weekdays, press and partnerships, and its SMS program. Clare is Black-owned and has become one of the best-known Black-founded home brands, a fixture of New York Magazine's Strategist home decor coverage.
If you have been putting off a room because you cannot commit to a color, start with the swatches and work up from there. Browse the palette and order online.
