Afro Unicorn

Afro Unicorn is a Black woman-owned character brand built on a simple observation: the unicorn emoji only came in one shade. Founder April Showers worked with a graphic designer to create a unicorn in her own likeness, then in multiple shades to represent a range of women and children of color — and a brand was born.

What started as a character has grown into more than twenty-five product categories. You will find apparel for adults, youth, toddlers and babies, plus shoes, accessories, bags, toys, puzzles, books, bedding, backpacks, party decorations, back-to-school gear and collectibles. Each one carries the same message: unique, divine, magical.

April Showers is the first Black woman to own a licensed character brand sold in major retailers nationwide. Afro Unicorn products are carried at Walmart, Target, Kohl's, Amazon, JCPenney and HomeGoods, and the full line is available directly from the brand's own online store.
