Danessa Myricks Beauty was founded in 2015 by Danessa Myricks, a self-taught makeup artist and photographer who built the brand without outside investment and remains its founder and chief executive. The line is built around multi-use, artist-grade products, with Yummy Skin blurring balm powder, Colorfix liquid pigments and the Groundwork palettes as the signatures, made to do several jobs rather than one.
It was designed from the start to be shade-inclusive, working across the full range of skin tones and textures rather than adding deeper shades later. The company operates out of a facility at 85 Sea Lane in Farmingdale on Long Island rather than a Manhattan office; the address is an office and warehouse, not a consumer storefront, so products are bought through Sephora, Beautylish or the brand's own site. Customer service runs Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern, through the contact form and help center on the site rather than a published phone line.
For makeup artists, and for anyone who would rather carry five products than fifteen, the range is worth exploring. Browse the collection online or reach out with a question.
