Eloure Beauty Supply is a Black-owned beauty supply store at 731 Duval Station Road, Suite 110, on Jacksonville's Northside.

Jamicia and Demetrius Grigsby started it with a straightforward goal: bring retail hair services to a part of Jacksonville that needed them. What they ran into along the way was a bigger problem, and it is one a lot of shoppers will recognize. Beauty supply stores have long been the primary source of hair, hair products and tools in African American communities — and the experience of shopping in them has often been a point of frustration, with little help available on product choices, protective styling options, or how to care for natural hair.

There is a numbers problem behind that. Black women are the primary consumers of hair extensions and hair care products, yet fewer than five percent of beauty supply stores in the United States are Black-owned. Eloure exists to move that number and to change what the visit feels like: enhancing the experience, empowering the community, as the store puts it.

The store is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 8pm and Sunday from noon to 6pm, with online ordering and free domestic shipping on orders over
