Fulton Street Books & Coffee

21 N Greenwood Avenue, Tulsa 74120, Oklahoma, United States
Business Details

Fulton Street Books & Coffee is Tulsa's only Black-owned bookstore, founded in July 2020 by Onikah Asamoa-Caesar, a former Teach For America corps member. In December 2023 the shop moved from West Latimer Street to 21 North Greenwood Avenue, putting it in the historic Greenwood District, the neighborhood known as Black Wall Street. It is a bookstore and a coffee shop at once, with a bespoke house blend and fresh bakery items alongside the shelves, so you can sit with a book and a cup rather than simply buying and leaving.

At least 70 percent of the inventory is by or about BIPOC and other marginalized communities. The store also runs a quarterly Cause Club subscription box built around social-justice themes, for readers who want a curated selection mailed to them.

Beyond retail, Fulton Street works as a gathering space: author events, readings, and a seasonal Sunday micro farmers' market that brings neighbors through the door. For visitors to Greenwood and locals alike, it is a practical place to find books that other Tulsa shelves miss. Come in for coffee and stay for the shelves.
