KINLÒ is a suncare and skincare line founded in 2021 by tennis champion Naomi Osaka, made for Black and Brown skin tones. The name combines the Japanese and Haitian words for gold, a nod to Osaka's Japanese-Haitian heritage. Its hero products are the Golden Rays sunscreen lotion and SPF sticks, formulated to avoid the white cast that makes many mineral sunscreens unwearable on deeper skin, and the wider range carries that same starting point through the rest of the routine.
Products are vegan and developed with dermatologists, and the site runs a 'Golden Room' education hub where those dermatologists explain what the ingredients actually do. The brand launched an exclusive partnership with Walmart, rolling out into roughly 2,500 stores, and Colin Kaepernick joined as an investor and board member in 2022.
