Moshood Creations has been dressing Brooklyn in African-inspired design since 1994. Founded by Nigerian-born designer Moshood Afariogun, the shop built its reputation in Fort Greene before moving to Restoration Plaza at 1360 Fulton Street in Bed-Stuy, where it continues today.
The collection covers men, women and children — t-shirts, sweatshirts, shorts, pants, dresses, skirts, patch jackets, vests, hats and caps, tote bags and handbags — much of it cut in natural fabrics with the patchwork and silhouettes the brand is known for. Custom work and alterations are part of what the shop does, and staff will talk you through fabric and fit. Over three decades it has clothed community leaders, musicians and generations of families, and it remains one of the longest-running Black-owned clothing businesses in Brooklyn.
Open Monday through Saturday with Sunday afternoon hours. Stop by and see what three decades of craft looks like.
