Oma The Label was founded in 2018 by Neumi Anekhe, a Nigerian-American designer who started the line because she could not find bold, affordable jewelry marketed to and modeled on Black women. The Harlem-based brand makes chunky gold and silver chains, chokers, pendants, hoops and statement earrings, rings, bracelets, anklets and bangles, including resin and acrylic pieces in bright colors.
The look is confident and layerable, priced for everyday buying rather than special occasions, and the campaigns feature Black women exclusively — the point of the brand from day one.
Oma The Label has been featured in national fashion press and worn by celebrities, and it sells online with nationwide shipping; the Harlem address is an office rather than a walk-in store. For jewelry that was designed with you in mind rather than adapted after the fact, this is a Black woman-owned brand doing it right.
