OUI the People is a Black woman-owned fine fragrance and body care house based in Brooklyn, and its founder's story starts in Guyana.
She was raised where scent was a lived experience rather than a product category — drifting through open windows on the afternoon breeze, clinging to uniforms pressed for work and church, lingering on skin after long days in the sun, living in fruit markets and family kitchens and powder puffs and incense smoke and gardens heavy with bloom. Long before she understood fragrance, she understood how scent could hold a memory. That became the foundation of the brand.
The fragrance line runs to eaux de parfum with names that tell you what they are reaching for — Island Milk, Caribbean Skin, Sunday Lime, Window Fruit, Souk Honey — and there is a discovery set if you would rather sample before committing to a full bottle.
The bodycare side is built skin-first: a lactic acid body wash, a hydrating body gloss in orange blossom, and a full bodycare ritual. These are products meant to actually do something for your skin, not just carry a scent.
Fine fragrance inspired by the Caribbean, made in Brooklyn.
