1717 Broadway #3, Brooklyn 11207, New York, United States
Business Details

photodom. is Brooklyn's Black-owned film camera store and lab, founded by Brooklyn native and photographer Dominick Lewis. The business launched online in 2016 and opened its first brick-and-mortar shop in Bushwick in September 2020, funded by a community GoFundMe campaign.

In 2025 it opened a 1,500 square foot flagship at 1717 Broadway that brings retail, a professional film lab, a rental house and a gallery space under one roof. The shelves carry 35mm, medium-format and large-format cameras, point-and-shoots, rangefinders, SLRs, instant and disposable cameras, along with film stock, lenses and darkroom chemicals. On the lab side the shop handles C-41, black-and-white, E-6 and ECN-2 processing, plus scanning and printing, and it rents cameras and studio space for people working on a shoot.

Between the counter, the lab and the gallery, it works as a gathering point for film photographers in the neighborhood as much as a store. Doors are open seven days a week, 10am to 7pm. Whether you are shooting your first roll or dropping off a stack of them, stop by 1717 Broadway or get in touch.
