Pottery by Osa is a one-woman ceramics studio run by Osa Atoe, who began making pottery in her New Orleans kitchen in 2015. The studio has since relocated and is now a solar-powered home studio in Sarasota, Florida, with pieces marked handmade in Sarasota, Florida. The work builds on midcentury Nigerian studio ceramics, tracing the innovations of Ladi Kwali and Michael Cardew, and it shows in the pots: red stoneware vessels with carved and stamped surface decoration, alongside smoke-fired micaceous pieces.
