The San Antonio Natural Hair Society was founded and developed by an award-winning, 30 year, natural hairstyling professional, Davette Mabrie. Davette has been featured on CNN, the New York Times and has won numerous awards locally and nationally for her work as a Natural Hair Braiding Artist and Loc Technician. Davette is also a national trail-blazing champion advocating over 15 years for natural hair styles for active duty service women and men of color in the US Military. Davette owns her own home and studio in northeast San Antonio. She created the San Antonio Natural Hair Society to teach others not only the skills of the profession but also, how to build and run a successful, profitable, and sustainable business enterprise. The San Antonio Natural Hair Society is the place to go to build knowledge of the profession, learn its amazing history, perfect techniques, learn new ones, to know your rights and fully understand professional health and safety, and turn a "kitchen hobby" into a solid financial future by learning how to meet demand for this growing industry.
