Telfar is a unisex fashion label founded by designer Telfar Clemens. It is best known for the Telfar Shopping Bag, a vegan leather tote sold in a wide range of sizes and colors that became one of the most recognized accessories of the decade. The brand also makes clothing and other accessories. Clemens, a Liberian-American designer from Queens, started the brand in 2005. Babak Radboy joined as creative director and business partner in 2013. Under the motto "Not for you - for everyone," Telfar has built its reputation on accessible pricing and a design approach without gender lines. Telfar opened its first flagship store at 408 Broadway in Lower Manhattan in late 2024. The store is open Wednesday through Sunday and carries the brand's bags, clothing and accessories in person.
