The store was founded by Bronx native Noëlle Santos, who set out to bring a bookstore back to the borough after the Bronx was left without a general-interest bookshop. She started the business in 2015 and opened the doors to the public on Independent Bookstore Day, April 27, 2019.
The shelves cover fiction, nonfiction, children's books and more, with a strong focus on stories and authors that reflect the Bronx and communities of color.
