The Way is a Black woman-owned hair salon founded in 2019 by stylist Illeisha Lussiano and built to serve every hair texture under one roof. The menu is a full textured-hair menu: cuts and styling from $125, silk press from $100, single-process color packages from $200 and loc retwists from $150, alongside braids and twists, natural styles, locs, extensions, bridal work and kids' services for ages five to twelve.
The salon occupies a bright third-floor space at 161 Lafayette Street on the SoHo and Chinatown border in Manhattan, having moved there from its earlier Lower East Side location, with 90s and 2000s R&B and hip hop playing while you are in the chair. It is open Tuesday through Saturday and closed Sunday and Monday. Lussiano is also known publicly as @thehairartiste, and the salon is frequently cited in New York best-salon roundups for textured hair.
There is no published phone number or email; bookings are taken through the salon's website and through Fresha. Pick your service and reserve a chair online today.
