OVERVIEW
The Virginia Black Film Festival is a 4-day Juneteenth celebration of Art & Culture, including a very special Juneteenth Concert, film screenings, expert panel discussions, networking events, celebrity guests and an exclusive awards gala. Maverick Entertainment (the leading distributor for independently produced feature films by Black creators) will have personnel in attendance throughout the event, identifying potential opportunities for distribution deals. VBFF events will take place throughout the beautiful seaside City of Hampton at the American Theatre, Hampton University, and Fort Monroe. Additional events are still being developed as sponsors propose collaborations. VBFF will host one of the most elaborate celebrations in the country, as film professionals and enthusiasts enjoy an unforgettable cultural event that the whole family can enjoy. VBFF is aligned to the Black Arts Foundation (501c3), whose mission is to establish forums that showcase the work of emerging artists of Color in Film, Theater, Music, Photography, and Modern Art, to provide educational and professional development opportunities, and to advocate for the visibility and success of Black artists.
