Love Island alums are at it again for a grand prize!

As the Love Island USA spinoff, Love Island Games, has its second season underway, fan favorite single islanders have returned to Fiji with a winning mindset.

Among the familiar faces, Love Island UK’s Tyrique Hyde is back after finishing third place during the show’s ninth season alongside his then-partner, Ella Thomas. Although the pair were believed to have found love after closing off, they ultimately broke up at the top of 2024, and now Hyde is back on his quest for love, and the grand prize, for the second installment of Love Island Games.

Tyrique Hyde has a famous father

Hailing from just outside of London by way of Essex, the 26-year-old was a semi-pro football player before becoming known via Love Island. He is the son of Micah Hyde, the famous footballer known for his time with the Premier League for Watford FC during the 1990s.

Outside of being a lover boy for Love Island, Hyde is also a musician who regularly shares his life with fans via Twitch, where he is said to give people insights about his life, while also spilling tea from the franchise – he was known as quite the pot stirrer during his season.

What’s his ‘Love Island Games’ motive?

For Hyde, there’s a lot more at stake with a grand prize of $100,000, a nice difference in the UK’s £50,000, which means he isn’t playing around about finding a partner who is in it to win it.

“If I find a girl that I like, and she’s sh**t at challenges I’m gonna weigh up how much I like her,” said Hyde during his intro video. “Because feelings change, money never changes!”

Hyde and other familiar Love Island faces, including fellow Brit, Lucinda Stafford, appear in the series, which airs new episodes on Peacock Thursday through Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET.
